The position of the usher is one of the most important positions in the church, because they are in charge of maintaining a spirit of reverence in God’s house and for ensuring that there will be an undisturbed flow of ministry to the believer. The ushers’ duties are to:
- Maintain order in the house of the Lord at all times
- Receive all members and guests with a warm welcome
- Take up the offerings
- Assist the pastor in altar call
- Serve communion
- Help set up music equipment and do general church setup
