“And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” Mark 16:15-20

The ministry of evangelism is designed primarily to win or revive personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ with all persons through the development, promotion, and support of all forms and phases of evangelism through the local community and among the present membership of the church; to promote church growth, worship, and celebration, the practice of prayer, and the use of hymns and music in praise of God, the reading of the Bible in public and in private; and to bring the membership to an understanding of the theological meaning of Christian stewardship and its application to his/her life, including the use of time, influence, personal abilities, and material resources. At the core of its function, evangelism is intended to be the greatest portion of ministry within the church, requiring the greatest number of participants to bring the type of change and impact we hope to see in the lives of those we touch. The objectives of the Evangelism Ministry are to:

• Promote an effective program of evangelism throughout the church community
• Set forth an adequate biblical and theological basis and understanding for evangelism
• Give particular emphasis to the promotion of comprehensive and practical programs of evangelism at the local community level so that persons without a church affiliation will be included within the nurturing and caring responsibility of the church
• Guide the church in the use of its leisure time and the appropriate days of the Christian calendar for special evangelism emphasis
• Develop literature and programs for the cultivation of a devotional life, active in prayer and study
• Provide training for persons qualified and interested in the field of evangelism and encourage the membership to participate in year round programs of evangelism
