For those who join us and recived the Right Hand of Fellowship: Read publicly in the presence of the entire congregation.
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized into the body of Christ, do you now in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with this church, the Tree of Life Christian Ministries, as one in the body of Christ?
We Will
Will you endeavor to engage through instruction and aid of the Holy Spirit; to walk in the unity of the Spirit and in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in Knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and faithfully to the support of the ministries, the expenses of the church, and the relief of the poor, both physically and spiritually; to meet the needs of the community we serve; and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations?
We Will
Will you engage to maintain a strong godly family foundation and devotion for the purpose of raising your child or children, if any, in the nurture, fear, and admonition of our Lord Jesus Christ; to seek the salvation of your kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in your dealings, faithful in your engagements, and exemplary in your deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, gossip, rumors, and excessive anger; to walk in the Spirit that you might not fulfill the lust of the flesh; and to be zealous in your efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior?
We Will
As the Lord Jesus Christ has declared, our brother, sister, and mother are those who keep his commandments. Will you therefore further covenant to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to visit those infirmed and imprisoned; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready to reconcile, mindful of the leadership of the Holy Spirit to secure his will without delay?
We Will
Since it is your unanimous agreement to enter into covenant with this branch of the body of Christ, we therefore extend to you the right hand of fellowship and the same covenant promise. As our hearts’ desire and prayer are now one and the same, let us also agree to worship in an atmosphere consistent with that of the early church, that the Spirit of God might have free course and demonstration with such manifestations as those that were evident in the early church and time of Christ.
