“For the time is come that judgement must begin at the house of God; and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”

In early March 1993, God began to quietly tug on the heart of our pastor and a small group of people who shared a burning desire to serve a community in need of salvation. While this inspiration was never discussed among the individual members, a sudden discovery that God was talking simultaneously to each of them became apparent (2 Cor 13:1 KJV). They all began to take heed to the small still voice within saying “GO FORTH” and bear witness in their homes, on their jobs, and in the community in which they lived. The voice of God in the spirit would continually bellow out from the essence of the multitude of counsel that they should indeed set sail without delay. With no money, plenty of faith, hearts to follow God, and a compass set by the Holy Spirit, on July 18, 1993, we left shore under blue skies and favorable winds. Every window of opportunity seemed to be simply waiting for their arrival.

In the fourth chapter of the book of John, the woman at the well had a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ. The impact was so powerful that she left her water pot and went running into town, filled with excitement and shouting at the top of her voice, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did . . . is not this the Christ?” Because of this woman’s encounter with Jesus, a whole town came to the well, heard, believed, and received living water and eternal salvation in Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.

Like this woman, we are compelled to tell everyone who would give ear about the great exploits Jesus Christ has done in our lives and to tell the story of the Tree of Life Christian Ministries. God promised that at the moment we opened our mouths to testify he would fill our words with a compelling anointing that could not be resisted. As a result, we have begun to see a fruit producing tree, a living organism, governed by the Holy Spirit, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. Its people are indeed like leaves reaching out to heal the lonely, sick, and unsaved among us. Additional passengers have joined us since we first set sail. Some ready to roll up their sleeves and work to the glory of God; some in need of restoration; and others are just in need of love. We truly give God the glory for the souls that have been saved and added to the body of Christ. Many lives have been changed and many ministries have been created at the unction and leadership of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, we simply would not be able to accomplish God’s will.

Through the Tree of Life Christian Ministries, God has blessed us with a marvelous window of opportunity to bring men, women, and children to the well that they may drink, never thirsting again, and experience for themselves the life changing power of Jesus Christ. The fields are truly ripe and ready to harvest . . . filled with people who desperately need to hear the story of Jesus the Christ and our encounter at the Tree of Life Christian Ministries, a body of believers fitly joined together, every joint supplying the needs of the people. We thank God for what he is doing with us and through us. We honor him everyday by giving him all the glory . . . .
