Ministerial Staff/Intercession/Men's Ministry/Audio Visual and Online Ministry

Rev. Rodney Gause was born in Washington, DC and moved to Prince George’s County Maryland while still in elementary school.  He was reared in church attending New Redeemed Baptist Church in S.E. Washington, DC and the original Jericho Baptist Church, which was located in N.E. Washington, DC prior to attending Harvest Temple Church of God of Forestville, Maryland through his teenage years into adulthood.  As a faithful member of Harvest Temple, Rodney was active in the youth ministry, played the bass guitar, was a member of the choir, sang solo’s and duets, taught Sunday School, youth leader and mentor, and eventually became the youngest member on the Church and Pastor’s Counsel at the age of 22.  After graduating high school Rodney worked for various companies until he had the opportunity to explore a career in law enforcement.  He is currently a Sergeant with the Prince George’s County Police Department and serves as the Faith Based Community Liaison. Several years ago jhe and his wife shelly joined the Tree of Life Christian Ministries in Clinton Maryland. He is active in the Men's Ministry, Intercession and is a member of the Ministerial Staff.

Rev. Shelly Gause was born in the District of Columbia, but grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland where she attended and graduated from the public school system. Later in life, Shelly graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and currently works as a Legal Assistant for a top-100 law firm.  Rev. Gause attended church regularly at Meridian Hill Baptist Church on 16th Street Northwest, Washington, DC growing up and was an active member of the Youth Choir.  At the age of 16 she started attending Harvest Temple Church of God, a local church near her home with a friend.  That friend just so happens to be her husband now.  As a member there, Shelly served in various capacities, including teaching Sunday school, serving on the finance team and the Women’s Retreat committee as the Registrar for several years, with annual attendance growing to over 250 women over the years it was held. Rev. Shelly Gause has also served in leadership capacity as Administrator of Corporate Affairs, Ministry Training Coordinator, and conducted Marriage Counseling alongside her husband.

Rodney and Shelly met while attending the same high school and subsequently married in 1990.  They were Ordained and Licensed, respectively, into ministry through The Living Word Christian Ministries on March 12, 2006.  They have two adult children together and one grandchild. Being young when they married, the more seasoned married couples took them under their wings in a very casual, yet very mentoring manner.  These “mentorships” helped to foster the passion that the Gause’s have to see marriages succeed.  Over the years they have employed similar “mentoring” methods with couples that were demonstrated to them, as well as providing counseling when requested.
